It’s official: MOL Logistics (Czech) s.r.o. achieves AEO certification
Our MOL Logistics office based in Plzen, Czech Republic has taken the next step in servicing their customers. The office achieved an official AEO certificate!
You will get prior notification in case of selection for physical control (related to safety and security) and priority treatment if selected for control.

The AEO status for security and safety (AEOS) is effective per July 13th 2019. MOL Logistics (Czech) is now responsible for maintaining the applicable standards and for informing the authorities on any changes. MOL Logistics (Czech) s.r.o. is one of the 261 certified companies in Czech Republic (of which 18 are AEOS).
What is AEO?
The AEO status is an internationally recognized quality mark regarding customs. It indicates that your role in the international supply chain is secure. It also implies that your customs controls and procedures are compliant and efficient. You can apply for AEO status for security and safety (AEOS), AEO status for customs simplification (AEOC) or both. In some cases it helps to ‘fast-track’ shipments through safety and security procedures.
What benefits are important for companies?
If you hold the AEOS status like MOL Logistics (Czech), you could benefit from fewer physical and document-based controls related to security & safety. You will get prior notification in case of selection for physical control (related to safety and security) and priority treatment if selected for control. Next to that, you can request a specific place for customs controls.
“For MOL Logistics (Czech) s.r.o. it is important to be recognized as a secure and safe business partner and have improved relations with Customs and other government authorities. For our customers this will result in fewer delayed shipments, reduced theft and losses, lower inspection costs of suppliers and increased co-operation.”
How about Mutual Recognition: what is it and what are the benefits?
Next to that, one of the elements of AEOS can be Mutual Recognition with third countries. Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs for short) are agreements between the European Union and third countries, within which agreements have been made about the mutual recognition of each other’s safety certifications. If an AEO holder has indicated that his data can be exchanged for mutual recognition, this AEO holder may be eligible for facilities on export to the third countries with which the EU has concluded mutual recognition agreements. The EU has agreements with:
- Japan
- United States
- China (however, no further agreements have been made about the practical implementation)
Specific benefits are contained in each individual MRA. In general the benefits include the following core elements:
- Fewer security and safety related controls
- Recognition of business partners during the application process
- Priority treatment at customs clearance
- Business continuity mechanism
